plate "No. 1" in sizable left sheet margin, positions 71L and 81L displaying the rare triple transfer, one Inverted variety (the compelling reason Mr. Cunliffe decided to have this remarkable multiple incorporated into his Inverted
Printings collection), gorgeous intense Plate One color and an overall prooflike impression, position 1 has been neatly reattached, a few very light creases in between rows, positions 10, 30 and 50 have creases ending in tears, three stamps with
trivial surface scuffs, small marginal thin affects position 81, otherwise extremely fine and in a spectacular state of preservation for such an early classic multiple.This magnificent multiple is simply amazing for a number of reasons. First, it
is the largest known multiple from the left pane of Plate One Late. Second, with the sole exception of the unique complete pane of 100 from the right portion of Plate One Late (currently part of the fabulous William H. Gross collection of United
States classics), this is the second largest intact multiple of any 1851-57 One Cent Blue imperforate. Additionally, the plate block of eight contained within this multiple is incredibly rare and is in the finest condition of the few that are known
to exist. And finally, the idea that such a sizable multiple exists of an imperforate classic issue of the United States is just remarkable.An exciting opportunity to acquire one of the most important classic multiples in United States philately.

a marvelous assemblage of twenty single stamps, one pair, three strips of three and fourteen covers, all being double or triple transfer varieties that have one which is inverted, includes many scarce and rare items that took years for Mr. Cunliffe
to find, we note a couple of rare mint imperforate singles, as well as a number of both Ty. II and Ty. IV imperforate singles from the various positions, plus an impressive group of unusual and scarce frankings on cover of these elusive plate
varieties, some in combination with other stamps, the perforated Ty. IV stamp (which catalogs $4,000.00 each) are represented by at least three off cover singles and one fine example on cover, as to be expected there are some items with small flaws,
but all are of attractive appearance and there are also many sound and very fine items as well; examination will reveal considerable value to the specialist. (imagea)

 #63e, 1c Blue, printed on both sides, Inverted Impression on back, a stunning used example of this immensely rare variety which, according to Don L. Evans in his
masterwork The United States 1c Franklin 1861-1867, is one of only two recorded examples, this one not having been on the auction market in over a decade, and the other has not been seen for an even greater length of time, the Cunliffe
example displaying a strong second impression on reverse (inverted to the front) of parts of two stamps, circular cork cancel on front, some irregular perforations and several tiny pinholes which do not detract from its extraordinary appearance;
woefully undercataloged when one considers both this stamp's enormous rarity, as well as the recent popularity of printed on both sides varieties, which have had stunning realizations of late, by comparison, the 1860 5c Brown, Ty. II, printed on both
sides, of which two are recorded (just like the stamp offered here) catalogs currently in Scott at $40,000.00, why this 1c Blue stamp with the same variety only catalogs one tenth that amount can only be attributed to its lack of appearance on the
auction market; a 1966 PF certificate was issued but no longer accompanies the item; ex-Isleham, Donaldson. (imagea)

 #73f, 2c Black, printed on both sides, Inverted Impression on back, a wonderfully choice used example of this extremely rare and popular variety, one of only
six examples recorded to date (five used and one unused, the latter with clipped perforations on two sides), of the six recorded some have the image on the reverse right side up and some are inverted, as found on this stamp, the front of the
stamp is exceptionally well centered and has a strong impression, neatly cancelled with a San Francisco double ring c.d.s., the reverse shows parts of two stamps, split almost equally, natural s.e. at right and just the trace of an inconsequential
paper crease/wrinkle at bottom, nevertheless this is one of the finest examples recorded; an absolute "must" for the serious Two Cent "Black Jack" collector or exhibitor; a 1974 PF certificate; ex-Russo.

Philatelic Foundation, the other is found on the famous ex-Isleham and Drucker cover, interestingly both the Cunliffe example offered here and the one from the cover display almost identical backside impressions, which show portions of two stamps
at top which are inverted to the front impression, clearly they must have come from the same sheet, the front of the stamp is exceptionally well centered within uncharacteristically large margins, plus its color is quite strong, neat central "1867"
manuscript cancellation, there is a small defect at bottom right which has been neatly repaired and does not affect its very fine appearance, nor is it terribly relevant given this stamp's unique off cover status; one of the most important printed

four, each being incredibly bright and fresh, with outstanding colors and impressions, and all four possessing exceptionally wide margins all around, including sizable sheet margins on one side which display the dual color registration markers and
punch holes, simply superb.Only one sheet of 100 of each of the four values were produced with inverted impressions. At one time the famous collector, the Earl of Crawford, owned the complete set of sheets. These were subsequently broken into the
imprint and plate number blocks of eight (two of each from the top and bottom of the sheets), only two sets of blocks of four and the remainder into singles. Our research indicates that one set of blocks has not remained intact, leaving this stunning
matching set of registration marker blocks of four as the only intact set. As such, these are not only spectacularly beautiful but they are also among the premier proof rarities in United States philately.Given that only two blocks of four of
each value exist, we find it a bit odd that the Scott catalog only gives a modest 10% premium over the value of four singles for a block of four. We cannot imagine that potential bidders for this incomparable set of blocks will not recognize this
