#315, 5c Blue imperforate, a showpiece complete set of all four position arrow blocks of four, along with the centerline block, being a reconstruction of the
sheet guide line and arrow markings, a wonderfully matched set which is believed to be one of only two such sets known, each block is marvelously fresh, with deep luxuriant color and strong impressions, plus all are exceptionally well
margined, pristine o.g., one stamp on the top arrow block and another on the centerline block may have just the barest trace of hinging (if at all), all others n.h., very fine-extremely fine; a stunning set, containing the extremely rare centerline
block of four, which is terribly elusive, as all of the imperforate sheets of 400 were divided into four panes of 100 stamps by the guide lines, because of the way these 33 sheets of imperforates were distributed, there are fewer than six centerline
blocks that could potentially exist; cataloged in Scott only as hinged position multiples, with no premium added for never hinged. (Image) |
