Blocks of 20 and 30 rejoined to form the original block of 50, selvage on three sides incl. imprint and plate no. 83 at top, also clearly showing the plate scratch between Positions 26 and 27 and plate damage between Position 9 and 10, also shows foreign entry of 6c Executive on Position 41, original gum, some Mint N.H., single horizontal crease affects selvage, another horizontal crease affects bottom row

FINE APPEARANCE. THIS IS THE LARGEST RECORDED MULTIPLE OF THE 6-CENT STATE DEPARTMENT ISSUE. A REMARKABLE MULTIPLE FROM THE TOP HALF OF THE PANE, WITH IMPRINT AND PLATE NUMBER AND ALSO SHOWING A FOREIGN ENTRY OF THE 6-CENT EXECUTIVE, PLATE SCRATCHES AND PLATE DAMAGE.

The previously largest-recorded multiple of the 6c State Dept. is a block of 20 in Les Lanphear's collection, which comes from the lower left corner of the sheet. It does not contain the full imprint and plate number. The foreign entry of the 6c Executive is known on Position 41 and 91. The multiple offered here was buried in an old-time holding until recently unearthed.
