Original gum, lovely rich color, strong impression, noticeable laid lines FINE AND ENORMOUSLY RARE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1868 ONE-CENT LARGE QUEEN ON LAID PAPER. THIS IS THE FINEST OF THE TWO OR THREE EXAMPLES THAT EXIST. ONE OF THE KEY STAMPS FOR THE LARGE QUEEN COLLECTOR AND A MAJOR CANADIAN RARITY. The Unitrade catalogue notes "fewer than 10 unused copies" of the 1c are recorded. Nearly all are without gum and have faults to some degree. A SENSATIONAL UNUSED EXAMPLE OF THE 3-CENT LARGE QUEEN ON LAID PAPER. WITHOUT QUESTION, THIS IS THE FINEST OF THE LESS THAN 10 UNUSED EXAMPLES IN EXISTENCE. Unitrade notes "Fewer than 10 unused copies" are known. We are aware of only two original gum examples. Of the remaining examples without gum, nearly all have faults to some degree and/or are off-centered. We are unaware of any other sound example in Extremely Fine condition.
