1/- green, the unique imperforate between used horizontal pair, twice cancelled by part strikes of the Dunedin "otago"
duplex, dated in 1865, resulting in the left-hand stamp largely struck by the datestamp portion; trace of a crease between the impressions and the right-hand stamp with trace of soiling at foot. A fantastic variety and a wonderful opportunity to
acquire one of the great New Zealand Chalon rarities. This remarkable item was discovered by Whitfield, King & Co., of Ipswich in 1939 and has, as far as we are aware, never been offered for sale by auction. R.P.S. Certificate (1952). Sc. 30d; S.G.

London Paid transit c.d.s. (17.5) alongside "1d" h.s., both in red, the reverse (flap missing) with despatch, St. John (7.6) and Kingston (8.6) c.d.s.; the envelope with tears in places (one across face panel) and small repair in one corner though of
